The 2 day Student Assistance Program Core Team Training is an intensive, highly experiential training that serves a Student Assistance Team of five to eight educators. They are trained in how to identify, intervene with and create appropriate action plans for students who may be at risk for issues such as substance abuse, depression, suicide and violence. The program gives new or established Student Assistance Teams, concrete skills and strategies to begin or enhance the prevention and intervention process. The training provides specific strategies for identification and intervention in the areas of academics, health, behavior, and attendance and participants will leave with a specific plan for behavioral interventions, and a system for implementing a student assistance program in their schools. The 2 day option includes compressed content, high task orientation, overview of at-risk topics, and action planning.
